Aglaonema White Rain, also called as White Rain Chinese Evergreen, is a cultivar in the genus Aglaonema. This cultivar was created by B. Frank Brown in 1989.
DESCRIPTION OF AGLAONEMA WHITE RAIN
Aglaonema Moonshine is originated from a cross of Aglaonema hybrid cultivar 'Ernesto's Favorite' as the female, or seed, parent with the Aglaonema hybrid cultivar 'Panayensis' as the male, or pollen, parent. The plant was discovered and selected by the inventor as a seedling within the progeny of the stated cross in a controlled environment in Valkaria, Fla.
It is an evergreen perennial herb which reaching 50 cm tall by 80 cm wide with mostly upright and outwardly arching plant habit with very dense and full appearance. The leaves are oblong, narrow, 29.5 cm long by 9.5 cm wide, silver green in the center surrounded with medium and dark green spots and flares/streaks towards the margins with white midveins and are held on white, 20 cm long petioles.
White Rain Chinese Evergreen blooms usually in summer from the inflorescence that bears unisexual flowers in a spadix, with a short zone of female flowers near the base and a wider zone of male flowers nearer the tip. The fruit is a fleshy berry that ripens red. The fruit is a thin layer covering one large seed.
